“Honouring the Heart of the Nation: Wafula Leads Teachers’ Day with Purpose”

A Different Kind of Celebration: Honouring Teachers on Their Special Day
When the calendar marked World Teachers’ Day, many expected another quiet moment to pass without celebration. But Peter Wafula, a visionary and servant leader, saw a different opportunity—a chance to put the spotlight back where it belongs: on the teachers.

A Call to Action: Uniting for Recognition
Understanding the power of recognition, Mr. Wafula personally wrote to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, inviting him to collaborate with his Community-Based Organization (CBO) and hundreds of teachers across Nairobi to mark the day with honour, joy, and dignity.

“Even if the stakeholders failed to organize something official, we as teachers cannot be forgotten. We must stand up for ourselves and celebrate our contribution,” said Mr. Wafula.

A Powerful Ally: Senator Sifuna Responds
Senator Sifuna, in his heartfelt response, echoed this passion, stating:
“Teachers are the heartbeat of Kenya. They are the first brush with learning that every child encounters—and no one can replace that.”A Movement is Born: Pride, Unity, and Purpose
Through Wafula’s leadership, the event became a symbol of unity, pride, and purpose, reminding teachers that they are more than civil servants—they are nation shapers.

A Vision for the Future: “Mwalimu Kwanza”
With his campaign theme “Mwalimu Kwanza”, Mr. Wafula promises to always place teachers at the center of every conversation, every decision, and every celebration.
“A teacher who is seen, heard, and valued becomes an unstoppable force in the classroom and in the nation.”

Leadership in Action: Wafula's Defining Character
This is the kind of leader Wafula is. Not one who waits for permission to act—but one who acts with intention, vision, and deep respect for educators.
